Fring is a mobile chat client which i believe everyone of us are aware of. We know about the capabilities that Fring adds to your mobile phone when it comes to communicating over a number of IM services. We can interact on Gtalk, Skype, Yahoo, Aim, MSN, ICQ, Twitter and Facebook with Fring using WiFi or the data connection. The latest version of Fring brings Video Calling over Fring/Skype which is amazing and Fring claims itself to be the only such application providing such a service.
To use the video calling service all that you need to do is just search for the Fring/Skype contact on Fring and choose Video Call from the calling options. The video call facility is available to 'Fring -> Skype' and 'Fring -> Fring' calls. I hope they bring out video calling over Yahoo, MSN and Gtalk also. So now you can video chat with your friends either from Fring or Skype on PC.
Setting up new themes on your phone is not a difficult task. However, there are many people who are new to Nokia 5800 and find it difficult to set them up. This guide is dedicated to all the newbies to Nokia 5800 so that they have a happy experience decorating their phones with colorful themes. Another note to people who have recently upgraded their phones and find their theme missing or theme effects missing, please follow this guide to set it back.
Step 1 - Install themes on your phone
You can either choose to install themes over the air via phone's data connection (need a data plan) or download the theme to your PC via internet, connect your phone and install via PC Suite. To start with i have three links here -
UC Browser is just another browser not really as good as the Opera Browser for the Nokia 5800 i reviewed in my last post. However, it has come long way since i last knew about it. It was buggy and unstable when i last used it. UC Browser 7 is an all new avatar of the last version i laid hands on. It is much more stable and refined, displays the webpages just like you see on your PC browser.
Browsing over this browser on Nokia 5800 was a fine experience. In terms of functionality, i would say it surpasses Opera. It has an inbuilt download manager which supports low speeds over the 2G network. The download manager allows you to save your download anywhere on the phone, something which is not available in Opera 10 Beta 2. It somehow restricts the download to the phone memory only.
We all know about Opera which happens to be the master of mobile internet browsing. I have reviewed the previous versions of Opera 4 and Opera 5 for Nokia 5800 which happened to be the J2ME versions. Opera 4 was a nice one but Opera 5 somehow was not stable on Nokia 5800. Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2 is a symbian version and works flawlessly on Nokia 5800. The entire layout and user interface which appears on Nokia 5800 gives a feel as if you are not browsing on Nokia 5800 and you are on an entirely different phone.
ShareMySlides is an online live presentation service which is currently running in the Beta test phase as such it is offering free service at the moment. I found it really interesting in the sense that you can upload all your documents (Only PDF and Powerpoint currently) on their website and view it on your mobile without a supporting application. What i mean is that to view the power-point or pdf documents that you upload, you don't need a Adobe Acrobat or Quick Office application installed on your Nokia 5800 to view them. There is a ShareMySlides application that can be used to see these documents on your phone which is absolute free at this time.
Snapfish is an online photo printing service by HP (Hewlett Packard) which is there for quite some time. It is available worldwide and allows you to print your pictures online at cheapest prices available. You can simply upload your pictures to your snapfish account or email them to your account and print them. They have a variety of options available for you to print your pictures. You can create photo mugs, posters, collage pictures, etc and have them delivered at your doorstep via courier.
Haiti is the third largest country in the Carribean. It is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere. Haiti was struck by a massive earthquake of magnitude 7.0 on the 12th January which has affected around three million people. This earthquake hit the most populated part of the country and claimed about 200000 lives. On 21st January, the Haiti government announced that more than 80000 bodies were buried in mass graves. A huge number of people are homeless and without food.
It is these times when we should act together and as one world even though if we speak different languages and have different cultures. There is aid coming to Haiti from all possible mediums, however, they are all insufficient if you compare compare the magnitude of destruction to life and property. The already weak economy has further suffered a big blow.
It is our duty on humanitarian grounds to help the people of Haiti in what ever way possible. The country needs a huge huge financial aid and all the major government bodies and corporate bodies including the NGOs have setup numerous ways in which you can donate funds to support Haiti.

Nexus One is the latest offering from Google and HTC which selling at a competitive price of 529$ for a single unlocked unit in USA. This has the most amazing specs that i have seen at this price. Even Nokia 5800 started at a similar price but Google's Nexus One has much to offer at the same price. Nexus One comes with an amazing 1 Ghz processor and 512 MB RAM which is as good as a desktop PC. It promises an amazing screen clarity with its WVGA Active Matrix Organic LED (AMOLED) touch screen.
It features a 5MP auto-focus camera with LED flash. It has an amazing 512 MB user memory and external storage capacity upto 32 GB. With a 1400 mAH battery, it has a very good battery and backup. You can recharge it with both USB and charger. Nokia 5800 cannot be recharged by connecting it via USB cable, however, you can buy a special charger for charging it via USB. The phone has a digital compass which is not available in Nokia 5800. The back panel of Nexus One is Teflon coated and gives it a good durability.
A second microphone is provided in the phone which helps in noise cancellation. The touch screen has a response rate of 1ms which is amazing and a point which Nokia should not take lightly when it comes to its own models.
