In case you are in that part of the world where the data charges are prohibitive or worse, data services are not yet available to the masses, you don't have to fret for being unable to update your Nokia 5800 firmware. 5800 firmware v21.0.025 is now available on Nokia Software Updater (NSU), which can be accessed from Nokia PC suite or NSU is also available as an independant software at NOKIA website.
Firmware v21.0.025 has been available for update Over The Air (OTA) for more than two weeks now. I don't really understand the rationale behind the time lag between OTA and NSU firmware upgrade releases or phased releases of firmware upgrades across different regions. Lets hope NOKIA simultaneously releases the next 5800 firmware upgrade across all regions and OTA and NSU alike.

I don't see any produce code missing from this list and will be glad if any of the readers can bring it to my notice if some product codes are absent from this list. At this stage, I would expect every product code to be eligible for firmware upgrade though.
Firmware v21.0.025 brings some welcome changes with it. The official change log claims a total of 225 fixes over v20.0.012 but the most prominent ones are:
- Quicker transition between landscape and portrait mode (Its getting faster in each update)
- Browsing is faster in the symbian browser
- Faster boot up
- Clicking on * when in alphanumeric mode, brings up all the special characters in full screen
- Larger cover art in the music player
- Standby breathing light
Overall the new firmware is much faster than the previous version. However the breathing light is kinda confusing as in the earlier firmwaver versions, the notification/breathing light would glow only during missed call or new sms. Some screenshots highlighting some of the features of v21.0.025:

Things missed in v21.0.025:
- Camera performance continues to be sloppy in low lit conditions (May be its a hardware limitation)

Phone is working a bit better but still the Symbian system is letting down.. I hate the symbian.. it is slow, sloppy and sometimes so annoying.. why cant Nokia start from scratch and build new, better(NOT on symbian basis but something alot different) mobile software that ain’t slow, laggy e.t.c., e.t.c…

Yeah it is available across several asian regions.. you can find your product code underneath your battery..
I also noticed a major change in volume, it got alot louder since the update 20% or maybe more, some buttons are bigger for better reach and the phone has never been faster but the camera is still a big disappointment
As I have mentioned in the post, the camera performance in low lit conditions is more a hardware limitation because of small aperture of the lens.. I dont think a firmware upgrade can fix this.. The optics is one of the best in its class (Carl Zeis).. Its just that the small aperture limits the amount of light available for capture..

I have Nokia 5800 XM, My realplayer video clips is not properly working, when i open vdeo clips in real player it keep on refreshing and doesnt stop. So i am unable to accsess videos in real player. but in gallery it is working. Also images editer is not working. music player plays the songs but it also doesnt refresh songs added or deleted. i had formatted my memory card and phone also by *#7370# but same prob occurs… please help…..

BUt naow, actually i had solved the previous problem to some extent by formatting phone and memory card. it was solved. But again i m suffering the same problem. .
Problem: when i open vdeo clips in real player it keep on refreshing and doesnt stop. So i am unable to accsess videos in real player. but in gallery it is working. In the gallery multiple copies of a mp3 song is shown, which is so irritating, i also deleted that mp3 song but thenafter it is shoing multiple files (in hondreds). MENA stands for Middle East and North Africa.. Did you buy the set in Hungary or it was manufactured in Hungary?

You got me wrong again. Handsets manufactured in Hungary can have different codes depending on the region they are intended to be marketed for. I mean you can buy a “Made in Hungary” in UK or Dubai. But both of them will have a different code.
