In this post, i am showcasing some of the best applications available for Nokia 5800/Symbian S60 v5 which are officially free downloads from their publishers.
Gmail Mobile 2.0.6
Gmail Mobile is a simple J2ME application for Nokia 5800 which allows you to manage your Gmail account from the phone itself. You can read your mails and perform all the email functionalities that you would generally do on the web-based interface. It has support for the touch screen phones and thus, you can set the game and navigation keys to off in the Application Manager. This application is data efficient and minimum possible data is used every time you connect to your mailbox. Gmail Mobile App is very stable and has a very nice interface. Very convenient to use.
Ebuddy Messenger
Ebuddy Messenger is a mobile IM client for Nokia 5800. It is actually an extension of the famous Ebuddy multi-chat service. It is a J2ME application which has touch screen support and runs as a full screen application on Nokia 5800. The multiple IM support includes Yahoo, Gtalk, MSN, AIM, ICQ, Facebook, Hyves and Myspace. It has a nice interface and very stable. You have tabbed chatting here. Chat with users from all the chat services simultaneously. The application is completely free of cost and periodically updated. It is a nice to have application on your phone. Always stay in touch with your friends on the move.

It is a high utility screenshots tool which lets you take screenshots of your mobile screen irrespective of what is getting displayed. You can capture any and everything getting displayed on your screen. It has support for a number of configurable image formats. You can specify the location where you wish to save the screenshots which is either in the memory card or the phone memory. It auto generates the file names for each screenshot numbered in sequence. the size of the images are optimized. The phone treats the images as normal images which can be sent as an email, MMS, over Bluetooth and USB.
SymTorrent
SymTorrent is a torrent client for Nokia 5800 and comes in handy when you do not have access to your PC and there is a particular file that you have to download on your mobile via torrent. The client does not have a file size limitation and can download files of any size though limited by your memory storage size. It is suggested that use the client for files of smaller sizes so as to prevent battery drainage and excess data usage in case you are not on a limited data plan. You need to download the torrent file somewhere on your phone and then add the torrent in the application by locating it on the phone. The torrent client is very functional and utilizes the phone's complete data bandwidth. To exploit the application's full capability, try it on a 3G connection.
Slick
Slick for Nokia 5800 is a native Symbian application and a free alternative to Ebuddy. It is still in Alpha test phase because of which it is free from LonelyCatGames at the moment. It supports ICQ, Yahoo, AIM and MSN. It also supports file transfer, user group management, Emoticons and Text Messages. You can receive offline messages and also send them. You also have message history in the application. The Tools menu has the update option using which you can upgrade to the latest build of the application. Hmmm I think the best messenger for 5800 is Nimbuzz, I read it somewhere. I don’t know if eBuddy is the best, since I think that eBuddy doesn’t support Skype for video chat. But for the other apps I don’t know, but thanks anyway for the review. By the way, do you also have review for 5800 best games? I searched at the internet, but I haven’t really found good article showing me list of 5800 best games. I don’t know if 5800 has good game or not. Searched at YouTube, iPhone has a lot nice 3D games, what about our Tube? What I mean good game here is game with best gameplay also best graphic. Do 5800 has 3D game support? The only 3D game that I’ve installed now on my phone is XDancery, nice on the graphic but the gameplay is so so, rather boring. What about the others? I’d like to try NFS Pro Street, now I’m still downloading it, also got the link from YouTube.
