1. Install JAFSetup_1.98.62.exe
2. Connect your phone through USB mini cable

The ZIP file at download link given for OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_V3.exe contains a trojan called Generic.dx (detected by McAfee AV).

  12. Luciano says:

When i click at OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_V3.exe (downloaded from the link you said), it installs again JAF and it again doesn’t find OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_V3.exe!! I don’t understand!! Please! Help!

    • Mara says:

Having the same issue. I don’t understand why it installs the JAF twice, and what .EXE to launch afterwards :?

Also find it strange that I have a palestinian flag and pledge for Gaza in the second download (OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_V3.exe) before it starts to install JAF again 8O

Starting to wonder if this is a trojan, or something of the sort…

  13. Nicholas says:

I have a Red NOKIA 5800XM from HK. So i changed my Product Code to APAC 1 Red 0559476, and updated succesfully the v20 firmware. But i noticed that my XM bar is now grey..

  14. Nicholas says:

No, im pretty sure you can’t change the color of the XM bar. Xpressmusic Bar color corresponds with the color model you have. ex: Red phone, red XM BAR. Blue Phone, Blue XM BAR.
Then Grey phone.. Although i havn’t seen a grey phone yet, I know it exists. I think the Product code i had entered corresponds with a Grey Phone. Although its not the end of the world. It dosn’t look ugly or bad. I wish it was Red.

  15. Nicholas says:

ahh i actually changed the theme, and i got my Red XM bar… I didn’t know the new version the XM bar color changes.. That’s actually really cool. Thx i was starting to get worried lol

  16. sachin says:

  18. TOG says:

Worked great thank you. Now my problem, I had the iplayer download button showing on the iplayer site and could download progs, but over the weekend found and installed Garmin xt and now found the download button has vanished and I’m back to watching only. Any suggestions of what’s gone wrong. Also can JAF be used to unlock a N73 off Vodaphone? Many thanks again.

  19. fred says:

Hi Tog, as far as I know, downloading with the iplayer app is still impossible, although i haven’t updated yet so wouldn’t know about afterwards…

  20. Andrew says:

Hi… I have a Nokia 5800d-1b BLACK ELITE RM-428(only HSDPA 850/1900 mhz). I want a Product Code with Portuguese language. Can I update some firmware to operate in HSDPDA 2100 mhz ?

    • afali says:

i am also curious about this subject.
if i change my RM-428’s code to “0559394: Euro3 BLUE”, can i get 2100 MHz WCMA signal?

  21. Jacob says:

    God, this was tedious.
First, the steps described above are optimised for Windows XP users. I recommend this link if you’re a Vista 32-bit user: http://dailymobile.se/forum/index.php/topic,1525.0.html

There is no way you can change your product code with the above steps if you’re a Vista 64-bit user.

If you have difficulty finding downloading the main file, search: JAFSetup_1.98.62.exe from Google.

Tip: Always ‘Run as Administrator’ when launching the two files.

  22. waseem says:

when launching nokia software updater it tells that critical component missing please help

    • Jacob says:

Perhaps the missing component is in the Nokia Software Updater (NSU). Make sure that your NSU is updated to the latest version or try reinstalling the program. Good luck!

  23. nikki says:

apac 1 is owsome! i sleep well now! :D .. nokia users from philippines upgrade your phone nw here!

  24. masterjaw says:

agree with nikki. i made the upgrade flawlessly using apac 1. my previous code was 0578218. i’ll return it to this code later.

  25. nikki says:

i backup my 5800 b4 i change my product code and update my firmware via NSU, it was successfully updated.. but nw i’m encountering a disk error problem while playing music player for more than 5hrs.. is it my memory card defective or bugs on changing my product code using jaf??? my 5800 is 2weeks old and all stock(i mean i did’nt change anything yet)..

Is it possible to return my original product code using jaf? also it is posible to return my original firmware using PC Suite restore(i have a backup)?

my purpose is go to Nokia care and have a check up to my phone.. but b4 i go, i want my 5800 back to its origanal state(Original firmware, files and folderr and product code).. pardon me for my bad English.. :-)

  26. Blaggerdan says:

when i run JAF 1.98 it says “P-Key dongle not detected. please insert activated dongle” my phone is connected pc suite is shut down i’ve tried installing again uninstalling.. i have latest pc suite on pc n latest pc suite stuff on my phone anybody else having this prob?

any suggestions? running windows xp professional…i run emulator i get the error message so when i click jaf main i get the error message above been trying for ages noo luck

  27. Nokia5800user says:

@Blaggerdan, don’t run the Jaf 1.98, only the JAF Pkey emulator, once you run the JAF Pkey Emulator, the Jaf 1.98 will run automatically. Try it again. Be sure you have installed both the JAF 1.98 and the JAF Pkey Emulator. Good luck. Once you update your firmware to v20, i’m sure you’ll appreciate your phone more.

  28. ben says:

i dont want to invalidate my warrenty but i want the latest firmware. I am based in the uk and whenever i search for updates it says there are none available. How can this be if there is for other versions. Thanks

    • Nokia5800user says:

@ben, unfortunately, not all the versions of the phone has its firmware update, in your case, your phone’s version is not included in the firmware upgrade, just like mine, but I can’t wait so I changed my version code of my phone. Luckily, I already have right now the latest firmware of the phone, so if you want to get the latest firmware and experience how great the latest firmware is, then, follow the steps above, change the code, your warranty will still be valid because after you change the product code, you will change the code again to its original code after the upgrade, so its the same code again, your code is found under the battery slot,

  29. Amin says:

What is the code for the black color? Thanks!
