We are here for another brief comparison guide between the Nokia N900 and Nokia 5800. And what we make with this comparison guides is to see the real differences between these to phones. do you really need a N900?  cold be the title for this post.Nokia N900

Released in November, 2009 - Nokia N900 is a master piece. Powered by ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz processor and PowerVR SGX graphics, it is an ultimate gear to have. Running on Maemo 5 OS, it has everything you would ever want out of a mobile phone. Maemo being a Linux based operating system offers the same system stability and reliability. It is a mobile computer which lets you do everything that you do on your PC. It even supports OpenGL ES 2.0 for excellent graphics. With a massive 1 GB of application memory, you will never have any of your applications getting stuck. The Nokia N900 is the big competitor with the iPhone (check here iPhone vs N900) but have in mind that the Nokia 5800 also competes with iPhone, they are both iPhone killers.

Nokia N900I do know that i mentioned nothing about Nokia 5800 in the flow but i really cannot resist myself from telling you about Nokia N900. Nokia 5800 is not the right candidate to be actually compared against N900. It is like comparing a needle with a nail. However, let us now try and compare Nokia 5800 with N900.

Nokia N900

Nokia 5800 offers a 3.2 MP camera whereas N900 offers a 5MP camera. Having an internal memory of 32GB which is extend-able up-to 48GB, Nokia N900 is an excellent media device. Nokia 5800 only supports memory storage up-to 16GB. One of the major drawbacks in Nokia N900 is that it does not support Java based applications which really reduces the scope of applications that can be used by N900 users. The full QWERTY keyboard gives a convenient input medium for users in Nokia N900 apart from the touch input.

Nokia N900Supporting all of the major data connectivity mediums, Nokia N900 is an excellent device to have but it can be heavy on your packets. On the other hand Nokia 5800 offering all the regular features of a standard touch phone comes for a decent price. Well, get into the Nokia N900 forum and see what people think about this phone.

  3. Of course N900 will beat 5800, it’s using new technology, new OS. 5800 nowadays has been left behind. Maybe if you want to compare with another phone, try something like Samsung Galaxy Spica, which is still under same price category. I think there’s something 5800 can win with N97 also.
