    Download this software

    http://www.digital-digest.com/software/getdownload.php?sid=1676&did=1&code=Atk7ypA2&decode=e446955d4f17f0ae593a1ceeff7e4228

    Output format: mp4
    Bitrate: 480
    FPS: 25
    Audio Bitrate: 56
    sample freq: auto
    Resolution: custom
    width: 370
    Height: 208

I get file sizes of about 90 mb per xvid episode. Play perfectly in realplayer. Just set up ure stand and place ure 5800 and enjoy. In case u r wondering, the screen size is fine and video plays flawlessly. I used to watch videos on my psp, now i have stopped carrying it around becoz it is so bulky. The nokia 5800 screen serves perfectly.

    Thanx!
It's not a bad alternative but i want to use subtitles too...

Does somebody know a good converter with subtitles?

  3. I think Smartmovie converter has subtitle attaching, but you need DIVX player

    I use xvid4psp 5.
You have a lot of profiles, like iphone, psp, mp4, mpeg, avi..... to choose from.

But until now, i only converted my movies for the psp, so i don't yet know the right settings for 5800.

If you guys want AH-MAZING!! quality of video on your 5800XM

here's a sure-fire way to make it happen. I have witnessed my office colleagues jaws on the floor once I showed them Wall-E and VickyCristinaBarcelona done with this software.

Use the following software (called- free video to ipod & psp converter)
    http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-to-iPod-Converter.htm

And then go open the folder where the program is installed. Add the following lines in the mp4.xml file inside the 'Profiles' folder(use notepad to edit).

    <Profile>
    <Name>5800xm Highest Quality (MPEG4, 29.97fps, 640x360; AAC - 96KBit)</Name>
    <Description></Description>
    <Comment></Comment>
    <VideoType></VideoType>
    <FrameWidth>640</FrameWidth>
    <FrameHeight>360</FrameHeight>
    <FrameRate>29.97</FrameRate>
    <VideoBitrate>2000000</VideoBitrate>
    <AudioFormat>96000</AudioFormat>
    <AudioChannels>2</AudioChannels>
    <AudioFrequency>44000</AudioFrequency>
    </Profile>

And viola, open the video software, choose 5800 from drop down list, easy as 1,2,3. You output Brilliant looking videos. Then Thank me later

Here's a sample video from one of my conversions,
    http://www.mediafire.com/?3zo0mkzzmya

transfer it to your VIDEO folder in your memory card, play with Real player, then feel your eyes pop

PS: Your videos will looks 10X better than the Batman video inside every 5800XM shipped to date.

    Hi dee7o !
Got a message of error, after I start the conversion with Zone Converter:
"this application can't be launched: libmp3lame-0.dll cannot be found ..." (the problem seems to come from ffmpeg.exe !)
    (translation by myself, from french)

I didnt' found where to download it ;-(

Yoshaw, the file I found after using Free video to Ipod Converter, is 3 times bigger than the original. Do I missed something ?
(Impossible to found the Profiles" directory, to insert the new profile in the mp4.xml file !

It's not a lucky day for me, isn't it ?

Try the installation folder of the software. Go to the convertor software's icon, right click and choose open file location. You should be able to locate Profiles folder from there.

As for the size, try changing the video bitrate in the code I pasted to something lower and then convert it. I'm using 1000000 which almost gives me the same size as original file. You could use a lower bitrate if you wish. Try experimenting yourself with different video bitrates and check if the size(& quality) is okay with you

Thanks for your answer, but I did'nt found this folder !
However, I found THE soft that can do the job, made for the 5800:
    http://www.nidesoft.com/nokia-video-converter.html
Works very well: fast and the size file is smaller !!
