Duplicate videos 0kb being created - can't delete them! (5 posts)

I have transferred a couple of videos (mPeg4) via mass storage (I'm a mac user).

The 5800 is showing two versions of each of the transferred videos, one of each is 0kb and cannot be opened. Problem is, the movies cannot be deleted either. I just get an error message saying cannot delete, file is still open. They remain on the Nokia even when the proper movies have been deleted.

Although they are only 0kb, so not taking up memory, if I continue to transfer movies , eventually I will have dozens of these non-existent movies on the directory. Incidentally, they do not show up in the Finder window in the Mac,

    Can anyone help?

Have you tried finding and deleting them through file manager? I mean the one installed on the phone.

I am having a similar problem.
My phone suddenly started duplicating songs in the music player - so I tried deleting them (but started getting error messages).
So then I deleted the entire albums from Nokia Music on my Pc - however they are still in the Music player in the phone, but not able to open them (error message again). Some songs have been duplicated 4 times!

Have tried deleting in file manager also but again error message.

Anyone know if its possible to reboot the whole phone and start from the beginning?

I'm having this same problem but with Mini Opera 4.2!

I've installed Mini Opera 4.2. It was working well. After syncing my contacts at the phone with those in outlook, I don't know why but the Gmail and Mini Opera icons in the shortcut didn't work. So I restarted the phone and both were no longer there. This was the first surprise.

When installing Gmail again (I thought it has been somehow totally erased), the phone asked if I wanted to replace the Gmail in the phone with the one being installed. This was the second surprise. In fact, the Nokia PC Suite showed that both the Gmail and Mini Opera were installed in the phone, but with 0 (zero) kb. Anyway, I proceed and replaced the files for Gmail.

But, when I try to do the same with Mini Opera, the phone shows and error and says that the installation failed (or some words alike). Thus, I tried to remove Mini Opera by using Nokia PC Suite, but it shows an error message saying that the file cannot be deleted.

What is this? Does this mean that the SD card is damaged, that some file is corrupted? I connected the phone in the mass storage mode, but I couldnt file any file such as "miniopera.jar". What do I do?

    How did you solve this?

yeah am facing the same problem with duplicate songs and videos.↲
And one more thing, when i tried to delete one song which already existed in the library, some songs from my memory card were erased and also a few default songs. Memory capacity is still the same.↲
Can anyone help me get the songs back and delete those duplicate files?
