Google Maps for Nokia 5800 is must have GPS application. You will hate to use Nokia Maps after you have used this application. Google has integrated the Buzz feature in Google Maps this time. You can select a location/landmark and post/see a buzz by all the people associated with that location. Everything is realtime and exciting.

With the integration of Google Latitude, Google Maps is much more than a navigation tool. You can add your friends in Google Latitude and see their real-time location and they can see yours. With the integration of Wikipedia in Google Maps, Google has gone one step ahead. You can now see all the locations in a map about which you have information available in Wikipedia. These locations are marked by a 'W' icon.

If you are on a 3G connection, you can even see the satellite view of the map which is amazing. Get real-time traffic updates on the map. Find your directions which are so accurate. I wonder how Google provides such a functional application free of cost. Moreover, it has maps from almost all the countries on the globe.

With free navigation its a all in one phone.

But it must be although free for older Nokia-phones

  2. Raheel says:

Is there anyway these maps get pre-downloaded?

  3. tajgames says:

My nokia 5800 still haven’t got the V 4 firmware update, will this app work on my firmware?? :?

  4. Anunay Kumar says:

No these maps do not get pre-downloaded. I think this app should also work on older firmwares. Please give it a try.

  5. Raheel says:

New firmware or not, this software is useless if it requires GPRS :x

  6. satyajit says:

Bad application, eralier one (3.x) was much better, data is very heavy, take huge time to load even on Wi-Fi (i have 2 mbps speed), cant emagine on GPRS, 3G is india stll in early face (except BSNL no one offers 3G). STILL NO NAVIGATION ON SYMBIAN. way to go google.
Feature wise may be good in addition of Wiki and Buzz.

Cant even compare with Nokia Maps, free navigation no data charge.

    the best way to use??
“Search your place in google map, save it as favourite, use nokia maps for navigation :D

  7. satyajit says:

How to roll back to 3.x?? any idea guys

  8. satyajit says:

Anybody have google map 3.x installer with them?? please share

  9. JaneDoe says:

Google Maps is a nice feature-rich app, and definately has the “cool” factor. However, I’m not sure on the true usefulness of satellite imagery in terms of navigation efficiency, and as other users have commented, the more features a non-downloadable map has, the more bandwidth and slower draw-rates it will have. Perhaps Google Maps can offer tiered levels of features depending on the bandwidth?

It is not fair to compare Google Maps to Nokia Maps – perhaps the strongest feature of Nokia Maps is you can have it downloaded on your phone so gps will work regardless of 3g or internet connection.
