Nokia 5800 Apps Review: Podcast
Podcasts are free downloadable audio or video content. Topics can range from technology to food to self-help. These podcasts are either produced by amateurs or professionals which hope to communicate their products, services, ideas and opinions. The Nokia 5800 was manufactured for multimedia purposes. Thus, the free Nokia 5800 app called Podcast is inherit in every Nokia 5800 unit.
This free Nokia 5800 app comes with your unit and can be found in the Music folder. The Podcasts application is simple and intuitive. To start looking for a potential podcast, you can begin looking in the directories. There are choices between audio and video podcasts and in categories such as entertainment, music, news, sports and more. Once you have decided what podcasts to choose, just click the title and the application will ask you if you want to subscribe. Then, this will now be part of your podcast list. You can choose as many podcasts as you wish. Since it will be downloaded directly to your phone, just make sure you will have enough room in your memory card.
In your podcast directory, this free Nokia app will display the current and previous podcast episodes. Choose which one you would like to download. Afterwards, the application will download the file to your phone. During downloading, it will give you info on how much time is left for completion and how many percent of the file have you downloaded. Kindly check if you have enough power as well. Downloading using the built-in wifi feature can drain battery life.

Once the file is downloaded, you can now listen or watch the podcast via your Nokia 5800 phone. You have an option to delete the file from the Podcast application once you are done.

Is there no alternative podcast app? I am a bit of a podcast fanatic and the possability to download podcasts straight to my phone was the main reason I got the Nokia 5800. I like the included podast app, but it’s quite simple and lack several features that should be obvious…
For example, I let my app automatically search for and download new episodes twice a day. It then downloads only the latest episode. And it downloas the latest episode from EVERY subscription.
I would like to be able to put one or mor subscriptions on “pause”, and would like to set the app to download ALL the new episodes from some of the subsriptions.
But with the Nokia app it’s “almost all or nothing”. Or I’d have to do it manually – but I have too many subscriptions for that…
Really hoping form improvements in the future. Or an alternative app.
hello there.. i’ve got the Nokia 5800
and i would love to sync some of the podcast frommy macbook into the phone.. but if i just send it via bluetooth.. it doesnt seems to be playing in my phone.. saying that it cannot plays and stuff.. so what can i do?
yes, it is what i want
My ipod device 1G is the most valuable iPod, Personal digital assistant and way more, plus has has been from the moment I purchased it. It continues to run the most recent iPod system software program, and also any application I need to have it to operate. I’m using it to post this comment at this time. Iwould say it can be a much more in comparison with only an “excellent hobbyist system” — it is an perfect iPod
