Nokia Ovi Maps has graduated to a new version which version 3.04. Nokia has made it available through Software Update feature in your phone. With the latest firmware upgrade, Ovi Maps saw great improvements as far as navigation and connecting to the satellite was concerned. There was better navigation accompanied with more accuracy. The new Ovi Maps update is 9221kb in size. Hence, it is advisable to update on a WiFi connection.
Walking on the similar lines as of Google Maps, Ovi Maps now has social reviews and opinions. Better connectivity for weal GPS signal areas. In India, i have personally felt the difference ever since the firmware upgrade. There was a significant enhancement in its performance. There is minimum usage of GPRS data and connectivity to the satellite is much quicker. Earlier it used to take 5-6 minuted for the GPS signal to be available but now it is within a minute. Moreover, the signal is much more consistent and never breaks on the way.
With navigation support for 77 countries and that too free of cost, Ovi Maps has come a long way from the time when is was called Nokia Maps. So download, it now free of cost either via Software Update or use the direct link to download the installer and install it using your PC Suite or Ovi Suite. In Italy the update is unavailable. I don’t know why
i have updated my 5800 to the latest firmware, which is v50 n i have downloaded the v3.04 ovi map with free navigation. when i use it, it will cost me once the gps satellite is on, isn’t it free?can some1 help me so that i can use it for free?i m from Malaysia.
