Nokia 5800 Help Guide: Using the Application Update feature on Nokia 5800

The Application Update feature on your Nokia 5800 is a quick and easy way to keep your phone updated with the latest releases of all the applications that are provided by Nokia. All the enhancements and updates that are released by Nokia for Nokia 5800 handset is available via Application Update. I have listed down the steps that are required for using Application Update on your phone successfully. All the applications that are available via Application Update are absolutely FREE OF COST. You need a working data connection or WiFi to be able to use Application Update.

The Application Update feature is NOT available to handsets which still run on the very first firmware with which Nokia is generally shipped. If you are not able to locate the Nokia Application Update, please upgrade your firmware to the latest one.

Please follow steps listed below to configure Application Update feature and update your Nokia 5800

1. Locate Application Update in the Applications Menu

2. Launch the Application Update. Click on Options -> Settings

3. Change the Default Access Point to your data connection access point. Click on OK.

4. As soon as you click on OK, the application starts searching for updates.

5. If updates are available, they get listed and you can opt between the available updates that you wish to install.

6. Once the update search finishes, select Options -> Start Update

7. All the updates are automatically downloaded and installed.

    I am really confused…i don’t seem to have this “app. update” software on my nokia 5800…it is updated to v40 and is genuine….can u tell me where i can get it? i really want to get flash 9 working

    My S”oftware Update app” on my nokia 5800 never finds new updates! It always searches and then claims it can’t find anything. It used to be able to find updates but not it does not. It seems as if it’s corrupted so is there a way i can uncorrupt it? Is there a userfile i can delete on my phone to uncorrupt it?

    when i use the app. update the software updates try to save on my phone memory but there is not enough memory on the phone so how do i change it to save to the memory card?
