As per the latest reports, Nokia 5800 has received a new firmware upgrade V31.0.008. Unfortunately, there has not been any feature enhancements like kinetic scrolling, widgets on the desktop, etc. This upgrade has again targeted the memory usage and speed optimizations. There has been better performance experienced as far as GPS Navigation is concerned. Also, the Nokia Maps App and the Ovi Store Client has been upgraded. The new firmware upgrade can be downloaded via FOTA and NSU. However, this upgrade is not available in all the countries and may get the upgrade by early October.

What is FOTA and NSU? Is this available in the US and if so, is there a link and instructions?

FOTA stands for Firmware Upgrade Over The Air and NSU stands for Nokia Software Updater. FOTA is direct update from your phone no need of cable and all.NSU you have to connect your phone to a computer and then use NSU to update your phone. Via FOTA the update size is 6 MB and via NSU it is around 100 MB.

Still running 21.0.0.25 here in Sweden. Anyone else, from a different country, still using this FW or is it just because the swedish programmers are lazy?

got mu Nokia 5800 just today , and like i saw in few forums it had the “No gateway” error coming up while connecting with WiFi. Can you come up with a solution .i am on Vista and Huawei WA 1003A router
