I have searched the net for applications that are not just pretty on the eyes but are very useful. We want to give you a FREE tool that can be used as a simple stopwatch on your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone for those needed instances. From OffScreen Technologies we present to you the Timer Lite.

What is Timer Lite?

Timer Lite is a simple application for stopwatch purposes with some very nice features.

At the upper left corner, you will see a big “I” which will pop the “About Us” window. At the upper right corner, you will see a big “X” which obviously ends the application.

At the top middle part of the screen, you will see a Play icon.  Below that, there are two display windows. The first one has digits on them. This will show the running time of the stopwatch. At the bottom will be another digit display but for a different purpose. We will discuss more on this later.

There’s a loop icon found at the bottom of the screen.

How to use Timer Lite?

When you’re ready to start the count, press the Play button or the arrow “facing the right” button. This will activate the time. You will also notice that the Timer Lite is displaying the minute, second and millisecond on its display screen.

Let’s say you are using Timer Lite to determine the time between two runners in a relay. What you do is press the “Loop” button and it will display the difference between the “time start” and the time you pressed the button.

My Take on the Timer Lite

The Timer Lite application is a must for your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone. It’s FREE and it’s lite in memory space. Some of the buttons are quite intuitive except for the “Loop” icon, which I had to tinker, and experiment in order to find out its function.

The “time difference” feature is a good addition. This makes the application much more useful compared to other simple timer applications. You can find different uses for this application such as in relay games, races or basically any event that involves time.

My verdict on the Timer Lite

Consider Timer Lite being part of your Nokia 5800 application arsenal. Not only is it lite on the hard drive space but its very useful for those times when you need it. And besides, it’s FREE. It will not cost you a cent (unless you are paying for over-the-air charges).
