Twitter has taken the world by storm. Known as micro-blogging, imagine putting an entire thought under 140 characters. It has become such a powerful tool that it has even influenced how we conduct our lives daily.  With the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone has been designed for mobile social networking with its built-in wifi and 3G capabilities, the phenomenon known has Twitter is a welcome fit to this unit. Though we are still waiting for an official Twitter application for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone (such as the YouTube application released by Google a few days ago), different software companies have release Twitter-related software.  Mojos Studios gives us Twittix.

Twittix by Mojos Studios for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone has put all the functions the Twitter desktop has namely tweeting, reply tweeting, sending a direct message, following and “unfollowing” a user or person. It gives you a list of your followers and the people your follow in real-time. Fit in tabbed view, you can check out your replies, timelines, messages, favorites, followers and followings. Twittix can accommodate landscape and portrait mode so you can Tweet in any way you want. You can check out the 411 on the user you are following or are following you. Want to find a person to Tweet and see if he does have an account? Go and search for them insing Twittix.

Compared to other Twitter-related applications out there, Twittix is one of the few that has the closest thing to the original online product in terms of features. I have no qualms about it. It is just like what I would use it when Twitter is on my computer browser. However, I’m not so sure about the interface. It is the 21th century and an application’s interface adds to the magic of its use. The folks of Mojos Studios still have room to improve with Twittix’s look. If they only took a page from Stew, then they would have a very powerful product. But if you are not much into eye candy and more into usage, then this is the Twitter application for you.

Twittix by Mojos Studios for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone only comes in English and German. Other than the ones who use character language, I am pretty sure you can adapt to the English version since it is quite straightforward. The term Twitter or Twitt is practically the same to anyone around the world. I think we won’t have much of a problem in this category unless you’re very picky.

Twittix by Mojos Studios for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone gets points for functionality and features. Graphical User Interface (GUI) needs some face lifting. I am sure they can do something about that.
