Busy fingers with this speedy game.
How sharp is your eye and hand coordination? It is said that most people who were exposed in technology at an early age such as video games and gadgets have better control in their eye and hand coordination skills. Well, perhaps we can test that using your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone with the FREE application known as Speedtouch Lite.
The Game:
Speedtouch Lite is an application created by a company called Moolan and programmed by Bernhard Aufreiter. Twelve orbs arranged in three columns and five rows randomly light up. You (the player) must touch the orbs that light up first. As you touch a lighted orb, it will “turn off” or turn white. However, just when you thought it is over, another orb activates whereby you need to touch it to deactivate it. The process repeats itself. The speed starts picking up. You will notice that the orbs light faster. The game ends when you do not touch the orb in time (estimated at around 3 seconds).
The Features:
Your points are added up and found at the top portion of the screen labeled “Hits”. If you get a high score, the game will indicate that you are eligible to be part of the Top Nine roster. Type in your name and you will be added to the Top Nine players.
Music and sound is played while enjoy this game which can stimulate more excitement as you play. You can toggle off or on the sound if you choose to play in silence and as to not disturb the people around you (or maybe playing at work during office hours – which is not recommended by the author).
Just in case you want to take a breather and let your thumb or fingers recuperate, a “Pause” button is found at the lower left corner of the screen. When you are ready to get back to the action, just hit the “Play” button (same place).
If you want to exit, just hit the big “X” neatly found at the lower right corner of the screen.
I can really say that this game is addictive. It will really challenge you to go further and beyond your score. And the game will not disappoint giving you a run for your money. You will start feeling the speed after a minute of pressing on the orbs. You will be in constant alertness when you play this game. Though speed is a factor, whether you use your thumb or your pointing finger (or any other finger you are comfortable with), the ability to shift from one orb to another is a skill in itself.

Will you be part of the Top Nine?
A word of caution
But the premise of the Speedtouch Lite game could spell the destruction of your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone’s LCD screen. While playing, one cannot avoid being so immersed in the game that the player may put too much pressure on the screen. From light taps, it could turn into aggressive hits on the orbs that may cause the LCD to break down in the future.
How ironic? A game named Lite can promote heavy hits on the screen. As much as the Nokia screen is tested to receive pressure, it is still fragile towards ferocious pounding. Using the stylus may slow down some players and may even be more prone to crack the screen.
When playing this game, keep in mind that it is still an LCD screen that needs to caution.
The Verdict
I believe that the Speedtouch Lite game can provide long hours of enjoyment. It can be very addicting and can push your skill level to the limit. Just make sure you do not slam those fingers (or stylus) on the screen too hard. Sure. You can have the top spot on the Top Nine. But how can you see it in a cracked screen.
Play Hard but don’t press too hard. Light on the fingers, players.
