BlackBerry is a known brand in the business segment for years, however, it has recently started competing with the multimedia champs like Nokia 5800. Both these phones have a different form factor. BlackBerry CURVE 8900 is mono-block with qwerty keypad whereas Nokia 5800 is a completely touch enabled phone. The CURVE features a 35 key back-lit qwerty keyboard with a track ball. It is a sensational phone except that it does not support 3G. It is a simple 2G phone with WiFi support which is the only savior when you need high speed internet. It gains over Nokia 5800 in the video support segment because it plays DivX/XviD/MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV format videos. Nokia 5800 still does not support Divx/Xvid so far.
The CURVE has a 3.2 MP camera which is equivalent to N5800's camera but it misses the Carl Zeiss optics. It has an auto-focus camera with a single LED flash. Storage support is equivalent to that of Nokia 5800 which supports up-to 16 GB of microSD memory. CURVE has a 512 MHz processor competing against a 434 MHz processor in Nokia 5800. It has a good battery with a rating of 1400 mAh which just 80 mAh more than the Tube's battery (1320 mAh).
BlackBerry has its own fan following which admires the classic build and design features of its phones. With every phone that they unveil, they raise the bar for its future phones and set an example for other brand phones. BlackBerry Curve 8900 is a decent and easy to use phone and famous among the business class for its always reliable BlackBerry service and unbeatable style. It is a known and proven fact that a BlackBerry owner worships his phone. Please post your views and comments about this article and reasons why you would wish to switch from a Nokia to a BlackBerry phone or vice-versa.
